day 10
Half-blind dovetail pins in walnut
I cut a second set of through dovetails today. Better, but still not perfect. The pins were awesome, because Jim helped me, and also helped me with the transfer for the tails. Paring the tails to fit (I think I left too much of the line when cutting on the side of the waste) was dodgy business. I didn't get it quite right.
It took hours. (I think, I don't check the clock and have no sense of time passing when I'm doing this.)
So I only got part way through my half-blind dovetails. I got the pins cut out and pared to a point where I'm happy with them.
My left hand is absolutely finished. It's happy for the weekend, though I'm trying to convince it to work tomorrow morning so I can finish the tails and attempt a fit. We'll see how it goes.
